Hey, hey, hey! Well, I had a busy morning of organizing my house and getting ready to go out of town for the weekend. All of the laundry is done and put away, the bedding is washed and back on the bed and all the dished are clean. I love when I have time to get the house in order before heading away for the weekend. It makes coming home so much more enjoyable. Tonight Adam, Oscar and I are meeting FFF Mom, FFF Dad and FFF niece in Maine for the weekend. I have to be at work at 10 am on Sunday so we will be leaving early Sunday morning to come home. I am super excited to get away for a couple days!
My morning started early. Like 5:30 am early! I got up and headed out the door to Ultimate Bootcamp by 5:45. The workout was pretty awesome and REALLY hot! There was lots of running, sprints, abs, pushups and dips. The whole workout used nothing but our bodies which was really cool. I forgot how simple it is to get in a great workout without any equipment if you push yourself and just keep moving. The hour flew by and I was sweaty and tired by the end! I am glad I got up and went to UB as the start to my weekend!!!
When I got home I had two things on the brain: COFFEE and FOOD! I made two whole wheat waffles, jammed some natural peanut butter in between them and called it a sandwich. I also had coffee with half and half. I ate breakfast while chatting on the phone with my mom. I know, I know I will see her in a few hours. But still
I spent the morning at Home Goods! Oh man, do I love this store! Bestie May got me a gift certificate for my birthday and I saved it for a few months until I needed something. I went in with my $50 gift-card and challenged myself to not spend more than that. This is typically really hard for me because I am a compulsive shopper have an empty house I need to fill I always see so many things I love! I went in to get few particular items:
- A smaller basket for our towels in out master bath. The one we have is HUGE and gets in the way. Adam and I trip over it non-stop. We all know I am way to accident prone for that crap!
- Something to organize my mail.
- A small dog bed for Oscar for my home office. He has a bed in the living room, but my office is on the third floor of the house and carrying the bed up and down in a pain in the butt. If he doesn’t have a place to lay he tries to get on my lap. My chair is on wheels which mean every time he jumps up on me I go flying across the room. While it is entertaining for my neighbors to watch me gliding around the room when the blinds are open, it is a huge aggravation for me and an accident waiting to happen for the ol’ mac book!
- A pillow with a giant doxie face on it….HEY! How did that get on my list? It totally was not on my list. But when I came across this pillow and saw that it was on clearance, I HAD TO HAVE IT! It looks just like Oscar and is perfect on my office chair to make my back comfy while I am on the computer.
Come on, that is adorable! And certainly not worth the $16.00 I paid for it, but whatever!
Good thing I found cheaper versions of the other stuff I needed. Mail organizer- $14.99:
New towel basket -$7.99:
Dog bed (cute doxie not included)- $9.99:
Not bad, huh? I spent $52.03 with tax. So I was $2.03 over budget. That is close enough for me. When I got home I made myself a quick lunch. I mixed some chopped celery, tuna and vegan “mayo” to make a tuna salad. I spread across two slices of whole wheat bread and topped each with a little bit of reduced fat swiss cheese. I put it under the broiler for about 7 minutes and enjoyed it with orange slices. Open-faced tuna melt perfection!
I also had a giant glass of water! Gotta keep hydrated in this heat.
Are able to stick to a budget in stores like Home Goods or Target? What ridiculous purchases, like my doxie pillow, have you made lately?

LOL! Love the pillow! Sometimes, you just gotta buy what you love, cause it’s so worth it
Can’t remember if I bought anything ridiculous recently. Does spending $7 on froyo count? (but hey, it was my dinner… twice this week)
