Blisters and Good Grades

Hello!!!! How is everyone?! Good? Good! We are one more day closer to the weekend woo-hoo! These weeks are flying by! I cannot believe in 8 days I will be boarding a plane to head to Fitbloggin’ :) So excited!!!! I was super busy today and had NO time for a lunch post…booo! I have been working right through my lunch everyday for the past few weeks :( Lunch was some pumpkin chili. I made this chili about two months ago and I froze it. A few days ago while going through my freezer looking for something, I saw it and thought, “Yum!” so I took it out and put it in the fridge to defrost. I had about 2 cups of it with a spoonful of plain greek yogurt instead of sour cream and a little organic low fat cheddar. It was awesome, just like the day I made it. Thank you freezer :)

This afternoon I ran 5.3 miles in 49:49. It felt great until I got off the treadmill and realized that my blister from Monday was KILLING ME! I think I may have made it worse? I am not sure I am hoping that it will feel better after resting all night. Tonight, I met with my group that I am working on my presentation for tomorrow with. I think that we have everything down pretty good. So hopefully, it will go well. I will keep you guys posted! Oh- I found out today that I got a 97% on my video and a 97% on my paper for the same class!!! YES! A special thanks to my editor, John. Thanks for all your edits on my papers, it is sooooo helpful! While meeting with my group, I sipped a grande iced coffee from Starbucks.

Dinner was left over pizza from Sunday afternoon and some steamed brussel sprouts.

While watching TV with Adam, he totally twisted my arm into sharing a little ice cream with him. Honestly, sometimes I say he twists my arm and he doesn’t, but this time- he really did. We split a small juice glass full of peanut butter cup ice cream. I took a few small bites and savored them. I looooove this stuff ;)

Well, it is nighty night for this girl. I am up at 5:15 to get my booty to the Body Pump 73 launch!!!!! Woot Woot! Nothing gets a girl out of bed like a new Body Pump set, am I right?! Have a great night and see you tomorrow morning! Sleep tight!

I got some questions for you regarding ‘running watches’. I recently decided to sign up for my very first 5K ever. The problem? I’ve never ran in my life. I did some research about what type of ‘feet’ i have, bought the right shoes, got plenty of workout clothes…but now…i need a watch thingy to track time and distance, heart rate etc.

I know absolutely nothing about these watches. I know you’ve got a Garmin, and you’ve been able to log each mile time, i would have no idea how to do that! Can you explain to me a little bit about how your watch can tell you your time on mile 1, 2, 3, etc, when you’re done?

I’m all for reading instructions on a new gadget, so I dont need the simplest one, but can you recommend one that could track heart rate, distance, time and especially lap time? And preferably under $100?? I’ve tried looking online, but I’m just boggled by all the selections!

    Thanks!

Thanks Dez! Well, I don’t know much about anything besides the garmin. I actually just tweeted this to get some recommendations for you. I got one so far for the Nike Sports Band, I will let you know other I find out about.

The Garmin lashed at each mile and tells me how fast I ran it. But, they way I look it up when I am done is through the Garmin software on my computer. It comes with the software and I plug the watch into the USB port and it loads my run so I can see my splits and a whole bunch of graphs that compare heart rate, speed, pace, distance etc. It is am amazing training tool! I love it. But, I would wait to get a Garmin until you have been running for a while.

I will let you know what I find out.

  6. I have to say, I’m a bit jealous of all you lovely bloggers going to fitbloggin’. I would love to go, especially since it’s so relatively close to NYC, but unfortunately I can’t swing it this year. Hopefully next year! Can’t wait to hear all about it. Have fun!
