Hello!!! I hope your week is going well! I honestly cannot believe tomorrow is Friday. The beginning of the week crawled, but the second half has flown by. I’m not complaining. I woke up this morning to see that my ankle was less swollen and feeling better, just a little tender. Breakfast this morning was kashi go lean crunch, fat free milk, and a sliced banana also…coffee!
Lunch was a turkey on a whole wheat wrap with laughing cow and lettuce. On the side I had some baby carrots.
Snacks were almonds and cashews and some fruit, mangos and strawberries.
Since my ankle was still a little swollen and tender, I decided to skip my Crossfit workout. Better safe than sorry. I want to make sure my ankle is feeling good before I push it, I am currently icing it as I type. I had a few other things to do today after work anyhow. I picked up my cap and gown for graduation!
Cap and gown:
My M.Ed, School Counseling hood. I am actually liking the colors.
Class of 2012!
I am excited to wear this in a few weeks. It took me close to 3 and a half years to earn my Master’s Degree and I am psyched to graduate and be done for a while. I actually wrote my very last grad school paper today when I got home from picking up the cap and gown and e-mailed it off to my professor. It was a reflection on my experience. I am not sure how I fit that into 5 pages. I could have written a novel!
(grande skinny vanilla latte is great paper writing fuel).
I am still not technically done though. The director of my grad program is coming in on Monday to observe me teaching a guidance lesson. Then I am DONE! Like DONE, DONE, DONE! That feeling will be awesome!
After the paper was sent I made myself dinner. I had some pesto baked chicken, roasted brussel sprouts and homemade sweet potato fries with organic ketchup on the side for dipping.
Pesto chicken is one of my favorites! I just spread the pesto on the chicken and bake it for about 30 minutes at 350 degrees. I usually flip it half way through.
Today’s outfit:
Bootcut jeans (Arden B), White t-shirt (Target), Red cardigan (American Eagle), Dip dyed scarf (H&M), Silver Chuck T’s. I love that I can wear jeans and sneaks to work if I want. I don’t do it often because I don’t like to blend in with the students, but when I do I enjoy being comfortable
Night!

Hey Ali, Heat is the worst thing for a swollen ankle! Try using only ice to speed up the healing process. You are an inspiration. Keep up the good work.
How exciting that you are graduating!!! Congrats girl and have a wonderful weekend!
Yay! Congrats on being so close to DONE!!! Must feel awesome!
Aren’t graduation gowns just oh so flattering?! At least yours is black, ours were red! Congrats on graduating!!! Enjoy the weekend
