Clearly, I have always had a knack for fashion! HA!

But in all seriousness, I could not write a blog about my passions and not include fashion.  Growing up I had a very glamorous grandmother.  My nana could look fantastic in a trash bag, no lie! She was always a little edgy, wearing something bright, something with sequins and even sporting the Afro in the 1970’s. I remember staring at her in awe a lot as a child and thinking, I want to look like that when I grow up. Luckily, I took my style cues from her and also physically resemble her almost to a T I owe much of my style/fashion savyness to my Nana! Thanks, Nan!

I would say that my style is pretty eclectic. I tend to be very classic. I love classic pieces like pearls. 99% of the time I am wearing my pearl studs, even with sweatpants! I love fun flats and adore cardigan sweaters. In the summer I prefer sun dresses to shorts.  I live for watching the style channel and trying to figure out ways to take runway fashions and make them work for me. I also love take some moderate fashion risks. Several times I have walked into a room and heard people say, “What the hell is she wearing?!” and I have to admit- I kind of love that! I dress pretty conservatively when it comes to showing skin. I think women are much sexier unstated than by letting it all hang out.

Ali’s fashion Tips:

• Find your personal style. For me, I know I am a little eclectic, but mostly classic. I love mixing classic pieces with super trendy pieces. When you dress for your style and what you are comfortable in, you will always look amazing.
• Invest in good quality staples. I have no problem spending a little more for my staples (black boots, black pants, GREAT fitting jeans, crisp white oxford, ect.). They will last longer and take abuse that staples usually receive.
• Don‘t be afraid of color!!!!!! A little color can make the plainest outfit really fun! I love to add color by using accessories since they are cheaper. Try a colorful flat, bracelet or cardigan!!!
