Hello! Well, I had a super busy day yesterday! I woke up around 8 am with a goal of making cappuccinos in our fancy new coffee maker. I have been meaning to do it, but I have been too intimidated by this bad boy!
After about 45 minutes of reading directions and many, many failed attempts. Look what happened!!!!!
Yum! A nonfat cappuccino topped with cinnamon
I could get used to this!
Breakfast was a vegan blueberry muffin from the Whole Foods Bakery and a ripe peach.
After breakfast I got ready to go to my bestie May’s wedding shower! I secretly spent most of my day Saturday preparing for it, but couldn’t write about it because it was a huge surprise! It was a Garden Party theme so that meant a few things!
Basil Plant favors:
Floral decorations.
Garden themed centerpieces (those are cupcakes!)
Champagne Fountain:
and….Big Hats!
Along with the champagne fountain we had had some mango puree and raspberries to make bellinis.
I had a few and a glass of red wine.
While waiting for the happy couple to arrive. I had two passed h’ordeuvres- a risotto ball and a chicken skewer with peanut sauce.
We all waited with excitement for May and Rick to arrive…
Finally they showed up…SURPRISE!
It was fun to see May surprised. I think she had an idea, but was not 100% sure. Once May and Rick arrived, lunch was served. It wad light and delicious!
Asian Noodle Salad:
Cucumber Salad:
Caesar Salad:
Sirloin Steak and Horseradish, Chicken Salad and Tomato, Basil and Mozzarella Sandwiches:
I had a little of each salad and a veggie sandwich. All of it was great!
Dessert was pretty outstanding too!
I split one of May’s mom’s famous chocolate chunk cookies with May’s futire sister-in-law Stacy.
I also had a cupcake baked my May’s mom and a cup of coffee.
Once all the eating was done it was present time!!! May and Rick got some great stuff!
I love all the gifts, so fun!
Of course all of us ladies HAD to have a little fun with the Groom. He was such a good sport! One of the many reasons why I love Rick!
Everyone had a great time! I am so proud of all the work myself and the bridesmaids did to give May and Rick a great shower, even though the whether refused to cooperate! I cannot wait for May’s bid day!
One of my favorite photos of the day…Bridesmaid’s huddle:)
My outfit was a high waisted pink skirt (H&M), a White ruffled top (Target) and my gold coach sandals.
The rest of the night was spent hanging out at May’s sister’s house there the shower was held chatting. I didn’t really eat dinner, I snacked on some fresh popped popcorn and cheese and crackers and had a few Stellas.
Adam spent some time bonding with Ellen and Tom’s dogs. They are bulldogs named Chopper and EPIC (love his name!).
Once we got home at 10:30, I promptly hit the hay! This morning it was hard to get out of bed, because it was cold and rainy and looked NOTHING like August outside. Oscar was none to thrilled to be walked in the rain this morning. It was the perfect morning for hot coffee and hot oatmeal.
Oats:
- between 1/3 and 1/4 of a cup of oats
- between 1/3 and 1/4 of a cup of fat free milk
- between 1/3 and 1/4 of a cup water
- 1/2 of a banana
- maple syrup
- cinnamon raisin swirl peanut butter
Around 11am, I opened my snack. I saw this while I was checking out at Trader Joe’s on Saturday and thought I would love it.
But, I absolutely hated them! I had to choke one down and then threw them out. Worth a try though.
Lunch was warm and yummy too! I had a can of Amy’s Alphabet soup.
On the side I had a nectarine and a whole wheat and sunflower seed roll – both bought at the Farmer’s Market and an Adora.

Today’s Outfit:
Polka dotted blouse and cardigan (JCrew), Gray pants (Express) with Nine West red flats.
Well, tonight plans include a little work at my part-time job followed by laundry and hanging out with Adam and Oscar. Luckily, today is my workout rest day for this week because I am feeling lazy.

What a fun shower! I love all things like that and the food especially.
The hats are so cute!
I knew that you wouldn’t like the seaweed! Had fun at the mshower!
Very cute blouse! I also LOVE that cappuccino maker! It looks so fun and yummy. Believe me, I’m sure it would take me the same length of time to figure that bad boy out! It definitely looks like it was worth it in the end. Happy coffee! <3
The shower looks like it was a great time! I too hated those seaweed things. Thought I’d like it bc I love sushi and even seaweed salad but they are just terrible! Glad I’m not alone!
Looks like such an amazing time.
The Amy’s Alphabet soup is my favorite! I love the flavor, so good!
I love the idea of a garden party for a wedding shower, the hats were a fun touch!
I still can’t figure out my espresso machine…that steamed milk gets me every time.
What an amazing shower! You did a great job!
Oh man, I tried to snack on seaweed once too. It really is disgusting! And the worst part was that it got stuck to the roof of my mouth and I couldn’t get it off! The taste was with me waaay too long. I suggest wasabi peas as a replacement
Garden party?! That is just too cute!!
I love the big hats
[...] After walking Oscar I whipped up a quick cappuccino. I am seriously loving this new coffee maker! [...]
