Green Monster Questions!

Good morning and Happy Humpday! I hope you all had a great night and are having a great morning as well. Last night before getting ready for bed, I tried some raspberry sorbet Adam was eating. I had a few spoonfuls. YUM! It was really refreshing!

After sorbet, I sat in bed with my book and some chamomile tea. Great way to end a busy day :)

I slept sooooo good last night. I really think the chamomile tea helps!!! Breakfast was a Green Monster.

and some coffee with half and half..obvi!

Today’s outfit:

Red chino’s (J CREW), Blue and white stripped top (TJ Maxx), Blue v-neck (Old Navy), Gold flats (Target).

Sorry these outfit pics are so blurry! It is really time for a new camera. Thanks for all your input  on that. I am reviewing all the responses. A special thanks to my friend Dan who my post about the camera and sent me a HUGE e-mail about it. :)

“Ask Me Anything” Questions:

Q: What type of music do you usually listen to when you work out and don’t? or Is it the same? (Mines is totally different when I work out I listen to Kesha, Pink, Katy Perry, Black eye peas…etc and when I don’t I usually listen to more lay back type of music like Adele, Jason Mraz, Coldplay and so on) Thanks!!

A: Good question! My music taste is fairly electric to begin with. I listen to a lot of pop, country and rock. I also like a lot of “older” music. Growing my parents listened to country, which is a little odd for folks from Boston. So I grew up on Rodger Whittaker, Dolly Parton and  Kenny Rodgers. They also listened to the Beatles and Billy Joel. I came to love voiced like Whitney Houston and Tina Turner as well, my mom’s friend Doreen listened to those ladies and we spent an awful lot of time at her house as kids. Adam also grew up on country music, his dad grew up in Kentucky. So he listened Alabama, Johnny Cash and Kenny Rodgers as a kid. Once I met him, we both started listening to more country.

My running music pretty much reflects my electric taste. My current play list has over 70 songs on it and has a good mix of all genres. Although, it is a little but more poppy. It has a LOT of girly pop on it : Pink, The Veronicas, Brittany Spears, Christina, Gaga, Alicia Keyes ect. But, also includes some rock like Coldplay, U2 and Foo Fighters. Of course, I have some OLD Tine Turner and Whitney Houston on there.

Q: Can you do a step by step instruction on how you make your Green Monster? I want to try it but not sure where to start.

A: Sure! It is super easy. My Green Monsters are not always made with the same stuff- like most of what I make, I usually use what I have on hand. So here is a rough recipe of how I make them:

  • 1 banana (either frozen or fresh)
  • 2-3 big handfuls of spinach
  • 1 scoop pf protein powder
  • 1-2 scoops of green superfood (either original or chocolate flavor)
  • 1 cup of milk or almond milk depending on what I have. If I have no “milk” I will use a few spoonfuls plaid greek yougurt
  • I add flax seeds if I have some
  • a spoonful of nut butter: peanut, almond, dark chocolate peanut, cashew…whatever I have
  • if I have some pumpkin in the fridge already I will add that
  • Ice

As you can see, I don’t follow anything exactly, I just use what I have on hand. Add it all to a blender, blend until smooth, enjoy! Easy peasy!

Q: What kind of container do you use for your green monsters?  I’m looking for the perfect travel container and can’t seem to get my hands on it.  THANKS!

A: I have two Amazing Meal ones. But my favorite is the Blender Bottle that was a gift from my friend Ibelis!

I am accepting “Ask Me Anything” Questions until Friday, March 5th, so hurry up and get them in. To submit an question, click here.

Yay for cuntry music! I like everything, but when I’m in the mood to chill I like country. I’m going to Vegas in August to see Garth Brooks and celebrate my 30th birthday! :)

  3. I have that exact same blender bottle and I love it too! :)

  4. Your post reminded me of how awesome your homemade pizzas look. How do you purchase artichoke hearts, in the jar? I’m interested in adding them to my repertoire!

  5. Ibelis says:

Blender bottles can be purchased at Wholefoods or Amazon.com for a deal!!! All sizes and colors!
