Hello everyone! Well, we are currently 4 days away from our wedding! I cannot believe that it is here already! It came so fast. It feels real now that Adam’s sister and nephews have arrived and family and friends will be arriving throughout this week. I took the holiday weekend off from blogging to enjoy some family time. I had a lot of wedding stuff to get done too and taking pictures of my food was and writing was just not a priority. There was a lot of yummy eats and a few workouts, but you didn’t miss much.
Yesterday, Adam and I slept in. We had a lot of fun on the 4th and actually managed to get ourselves to four parties!!! We spent time with both our families and some friends -it was fantastic! The 4th was my Pa’s birthday by the way!!!!
We slept in pretty late and it felt fantastic!!! When we got up we decided to take Oscar for a long walk to get some lunch at Sorelle’s. We are in the middle of a heatwave in Boston right now, but I didn’t think it was that hot out…
I got a tuna sandwich. It was on mutligrain bread with garlic mayo, lettuce and red peppers. It was awesome, I asked for it sans mayo but the guy behind the counter assured me that the mayo “made the sandwich” and it would be a bad idea. He was right!!!! It was so good with the mayo.
On the side I had some salt and vinegar chips and a black tea with lemon.
After lunch we walked around the Navy Yard a little.
On our way home Oscar got so tired and hot that he refused to walk. First, he tried to get into a random car because he figured we could use a ride home. Then, he flat out refused to move, he would not budge an inch. So, he was carried home…he is such a drama king!!!!
I spent the afternoon taking care of some wedding tasks before heading to the gym for a 6:30 Body Pump class. For a pre-workout snack, I had a kids clif bar.
Body Pump was great, I left feeling strong and like a buff bride
Ashley and I decided to go and grab some dinner after the gym. It was hot as heck, so we wanted something light and cool. Enter: SUSHI!!!! Oh man! Is sushi not the best summer meal?!
We both drank water (we had had our fair share of adult beverages this weekend!) and shared some steamed edamame.
We shared a few rolls. All the sushi was amazing and hit the spot! Nom, nom, nom! Not going to lie, as I sit here writing this I am craving it again!!! I get on sushi kicks when I have it I just want more and more…it is kind of bad…
After dinner we went our separate ways. I ran a few errands and stopped at my part-time job to write out instructions for my dad who will be taking over for me while I am on my honeymoon
Thanks, Daddy!
I slept like a baby last night! I was scared that as the wedding got closer I would not be able to sleep, but that has not really been the case! When The alarm went off at 6am for my morning run, I felt rested and ready. I had initially planned on running 5 miles, but when I got outside and it was humid and 85 degrees at 6am I knew that was not going to happen, nor was it smart. Today is supposed to be the worst day of the heatwave. I had a deal with myself that if I ran at a really, really good pace I only had to do 2.5 miles. I ran those 2.5 in 23:31 which is a great pace for me for that kind of heat. I was a sweaty beast after the run and hopped right in a semi-cold shower.
When I got out I was craving cereal and milk. I wanted a nice cool breakfast. I have 1 cup of Total, 1 cup of fat free milk with blueberries, strawberries and a banana
Perfect!
I was going to walk into work this morning, but on the way I bumped into my friend Mike’s parents who were headed that way anyways and gave me a ride! It was super sweet of them! Mike is currently driving up from NC for our wedding and is expected to arrive today! I am so excited to see him! I have been friends with Mike since I was 2 years old
My friend Casey also arrives today from Colorado!
Once I got to work, I popped down the street and got a vanilla iced coffee with cream.
Today’s Outfit:
