YAY! It’s Official, I am a “real” Healthworks member!!!!

After a few months of going as a “fake” member ( I received some coupons) I joined. I went back and forth in my mind for a while about it. This gym is pricey, way more than I thought I would ever spend on a gym. It is really fancy too: hot tub, steam room , sauna and many other great things. The more I thought about it the more I figured it was worth it to me. Fitness is something I am super passionate about and this gym is like heaven to me. I love that it is all women, they have AMAZING classes (cough, cough…BODY PUMP), everyone is super friendly and it has a bunch of really convenient locations. The idea of not being able to go anymore, once my coupons expired, made me really sad. So I joined and am really happy with my decision. I think a gym is one of those places where you really get what you pay for (although there are a few exceptional bargains I have heard of).
Do you belong to a pricey gym? Have you ever paid what seemed like a lot of money for a gym, class, fitness group? Do you think/thought it was worth it?
Lunch today was super yummy. I was running late this morning and since Adam came home last night I opted to spend time with him rather than prep my lunch for today.
Pacific Foods to the rescue:

I had two cups of this delicious butternut squash soup!!! They were not joking when they said it was creamy. Creamy indeed, it was so sweet and creamy perfect fall soup (even though we are having summer weather!).

On the side I has some kashi crackers and a laughing cow cheese.

I had a snack this afternoon too, hopefully it will carry me through class tonight.
Primal Strip:

Grapes:

I love grapes so much, they really could be in my top five favorite fruits!
What fruits are in your top 5?
Mine would be…for the record:

I would totally spill that greedy-good soup on my keyboard. But, uh, not that I’m speaking from experience or anything. Umm, nope.
Top 5 Fruits:
1) Raspberries
2) Blueberries
3) Gala Apple
4) Banana
5) Cheesecake
What is in a primal strip? Meat?
I love body pump! Maybe when my foot is better you can take me as a guest to a class!
A Primal Strip is made of soy, but kind of tastes like meat. It is protein packed!
You can’t put a price on good health is what I tell myself when I pay my gym membership or buy new running shoes. You should check with your health insurance to see if they reimburse you or give you a percentage back for the membership.
This place has a hot tub?!
Right, exactly! Can’t put a price on good health, I will use that to rationalize a whole lot in the future!!!!
Yes, a hot tub! The steam room is my favorite though!
I only have 1 gym in my small little town and their prices are high…its a good gym but yes i would pay the price for a great gym if I loved it as much as you love it. Congrats!
Thanks!!!!
cool id! =D
top five fruits: blackberries, raspberries, gala apples, peaches, pluots
Enjoy your new gym! I will be going back to my bootcamp class in January and cannot wait.
i don’t know what ‘pricey’ is — mine is about $50/month and i consider it a bit of a splurge, but i bet gyms in big cities are a lot more expensive! i think it’s worth it for a nice atmosphere since a) we spend a lot of time there and b) it’s somewhere you want to be motivated TO spend time, you know!?
top 5: wow, that’s tough!
strawberries
apricots
kiwis
mango
peaches
i guess i’m more of a summer fruit person.
My gym is higher than $50…but I think it is worth it! You certainly are a summer fruit person!
We share a lot of the same top 5 fruit:
Grapes (could eat a bag a day by myself – LOVE them!)
Banana
Pineapple
Mango
Apples
I got Healthworks in Chestnut Hill and I love it! It’s expensive(!) but you are definitely getting what you pay for. It’s beautiful, clean, has the most up to date machines and classes – it’s the best!
