Wow! Sorry I have been MIA. Sometimes my life gets busy and on my “free” time I need a break from blogging to just relax. But, I wanted to catch you all up on my life the past few days. Did you miss me? I missed all my bloggy friends so much
Wednesday, lunch was provided by work…score! It was eaten while I was working. I had some fruit salad and a veggie wrap: spinach, tomato, mushrooms, mozzarella on a spinach tortilla.
It was fine, but kind of lacked flavor!
Work was super busy. There was tons of candy around. I had two mini jolly ranchers that gave me a sugar rush and, as usual, a sugar CRASH! I had a mini cashew cookie Larabar for some brain energy around 2pm.
Sorry, the picture was taken inside my bag. I love these mini Larabars, but after that sugar crash it was not enough to give me energy. It needed help from caffeine. So after work, I popped over to Starbucks, I was excited tosee this sign
But…it was 97 degrees out and a hot drink while walking was not desirable. I can’t wait to have one on a chilly day! Instead I got old faithful. Grande iced skinny vanilla latte.
After Starbucks I met my friend Ashley at her work building and we walked to yoga together while chatting. I hadn’t seen Ashley in a week or so, so I had to catch up on her life. We did 75 minutes of yoga and I felt amazing after- as always!!!!I also discovered how much I love tree pose- it is my favorite!
Once I got home, after the sugar crash, all I wanted to fresh veggies. So I had a huge salad. In the process though, I sliced my index finger pretty bad. It actually took a few seconds for me to realize it was my finger and stop cutting because the knife was so sharp. OUCH!!!!!
Salad:
This salad was awesome!!!! It contained:
- herb lettuce mix
- tomato
- cucumber (which I was slicing when I cut my finger)
- red peppers
- leftover couscous from the night before
- eftover grilled chichen from the night before
- black olives
- artichoke hearts
- ***GODDESS DRESSING*** (Star of the show!!!!!)
For dessert I had two squares of sea salt dark chocolate (yummmm)!
I passed out at 8:30pm on the couch watching TV, woke up at 9:45, washed my face, brushed my teeth and headed to bed. I was pooped!
When I woke up yesterday morning, I was surprising sore!!!! I didn’t think I would be. But then again in 24 hours I had:
- Done Body Pump (where I pushed it a little more)
- Ran 4 miles
- Did 75 minutes of yoga
I was so indecisive about breakfast, finally, I needed to make a decision or I would be late for work. I saw this yogurt in the fridge and realized I had never had it before. So I decided to try it.
I mixed it with 3/4 of a cup of Kashi Heart to Heart- on the side I had some grapes.
It had a very light tropical taste, but not too overpowering
I liked it a lot and will buy it again. It was way more passion fruit tasting than pomegranate.
Obviously there was a cappuccino involved!!!
During my lunch I attempted to go to the DMV and change my name on my license . The wait was over and hour so I left and grabbed some lunch at Finagle A Bagel. After my defeat at the DMV, I needed and iced coffee. I got a medium vanilla one with light cream.
For lunch, I got the Boston Garden in a toasted whole wheat bagel. It was loaded with veggies and hummus…so good!
Work was pretty busy in the afternoon. After work, I speed walked down to the DMV to pop in before they closed. After my typical DMV experience (being told I filled out the wrong form, noticing a mistake they made on my license and having to wait to have it fixed etc.) A girl date with my friend Ashley sounded amazing!!!! So we hit up Fajita’s and Rita’s! We started off with sangria!!!
Since Ash and I are pretty much obsessed with the fresh chips and salsa, we ordered those with a side of gauc and some black olives.
After about a zillion chips, we decided we needed “real dinner” so we split the chicken burrito. We always each get our own and NEVER finish! I don’t know why we never thought of this before!!!
Out night ended with a Birthday Octoberfest with our friend Jill whose birthday is tomorrow!!!! We searched high and low for a bar that had changed over from the summer beer to Octoberfest once we found one, we enjoyed then thoroughly as a birthday celebration!!! I actually had two beers
Yesterday’s Outfit:
Pink ruffle top (JCrew), Gray flare capris (The Limited).
This morning I woke up even more sore than the day before! I pushed myself and my body was feeling the effects. As much as I mentally did not want a rest day, physically I knew it was in my best interest! Sometimes it is hard for me to listen to my body. Not going to lie!
Breakfast was a Thomas bagel thin, peanut butter, 1/2 of a banana and grapes!
I had an iced coffee while walking into work!
Lunch:
Amy’s veggie and barley soup
Fruit salad, grapes, blueberries, watermelon
Kashi crackers and laughing cow
It was a perfect , well-rounded lunch
Today’s Outfit:
Black v neck t , which I found out is a maternity shirt –> oops (H&M), Denium patchwork shirt (Gap, circa 1999).
Straw bow sandals by Kate Spade.

Hey Ali – Where do you get the mini Larabars? I cant find them anywhere! I am celebrating my grandma’s 100th birthday this weekend!
That is so awesome! Happy Birthday to your grandma!!!! I got them at Target!
Thanks Ali! I am going to check it out! I will try to stop being a lurker on your blog!
Here in FL, it’s definitely hot, but I got an ICED pumpkin spice latte. Two days in a row, in fact.
I was just saying that it needs to cool off, mainly so I can get the hot pumpkin spice latte! Unfortunately, it’s 100 degrees in NC today. Nothing hot at all for me
I’m also obsessed with that sea salt chocolate!
A massage to start out the weekend sounds amazing! I’m working but only 8 hours then going to the lake on Sunday!
Love all your iced coffees, makes me want them all!
Mmmmmm Octoberfest was just what I wanted for my bday!
and since im so spoiled, why not?
A girl after my own (Starbucks) heart!
I love Pumpkin Spiced latte’s but always get the skinny vanilla latte iced during the summer.
Cute outfits too!
Speaking of bagel sandwiches, there’s a yummy place called Bagel World. Their bagel sandwiches (I get a BLT) is $3.75! It’s a good size and very very good. Your wrap looks like it’s from this local joint, The Green Tomato. I’d add some salad dressing or something to it.
OMG I LOVE dark sea salt chocolate. It is absolutely delicious!
I love fajita’s and rita’s! Border Cafe is def my favorite but fajita’s and rita’s is a close second.. I love that they have pitchers of margs and everything is so cheap
