Maine Saturday…

Hello! I hope our weekend was great! Mine was really awesome. Friday after Adam got out of work we packed up the dog and the car and headed up to my parent’s condo in Maine for fun filled family weekend. When we arrived Adam and I went to Feile to get a light dinner. I had a Geary’s Summer Ale with my dinner. I had never hard it before so I thought I would give it a whirl. It was just okay, not my favorite summer ale.

For dinner I got the mixed green salad with grilled salmon and a creamy lemon vinaigrette. The dressing was amazing and had a nice zing to it. The salmon was grilled to perfection and was so light and flaky. I loved this salad. I wish the sold the dressing, I totally would have bought it.

Adam and I actually crashed around 9:30. It was nice to call it an early night. His work schedule has been crazy lately and I was up at 5:30 am that morning. We slept like babies.

I spent the next morning hanging out with my adorable niece. She is so cute and at that age were she smiles and giggles at me non-stop. It totally melts my heart.

Around 10 am we headed to my favorite brunch spot in Maine- Bintliff’s. I love Bintliff’s because the menu is so unique and they use  all fresh ingredients. I always get the veggie home-fries. It is shaved potatoes, fresh veggies and parmesan cheese topped with scrambled eggs. It comes with a side of their homemade whole wheat toast.

I also had a cup of coffee.

After brunch we took a stroll around Kennebuck Port. It is such a beautiful area of Maine. We stopped in some of the small shops and just enjoyed the scenery and sunshine.  When we returned to the condo, Adam and I took Sophia to the pool. My mom and dad had taken her the day before and she loved it so Adam and I wanted to have a little fun with her in the pool. Adam is so much more conformable in water and I am since he was a competitive swimmer for the majority of his life.

Uncle Adam loved playing with Soph in the water. Please look at the adorable swim cap my mom bought for her. I seriously could not stop giggling at it. It is so hilarious.

I am not as good with water and swimming as Adam is. I liked having Soph in a floaty where I could make sure she was safe. Haha. Babies +Water= Anxious Ali.

Auntie and Soph’s bikini’s drying…. I love this photo!

After the pool time Adam and I enjoyed a few beers on the deck while enjoying these beautiful views.

I sipped a Peak Organic Summer Ale. It is one of my new favorites!

We headed to dinner at our favorite dinner spot in Manie, Varano’s. It was a day of our favorite spots :)

I sipped a glass of pinot nior throughout dinner.

The four of us split an appetizer of fried mozzarella, which is simply amazing. Fresh mozzarella deep fried with marinara dipping sauce.

For my meal I ordered my favorite dish, chicken orvietto. It is chicken breasts, olives, mushrooms and artichoke hearts in a lemon olive oil sauce with a side of pasta. It never disappoints.

We were way to stuffed for dessert! We went home and watched Investigation Discovery (my new obsession) while enjoying our food coma before heading to bed early!

How was your Saturday?
