Hello! How are you all on this humpday?! I am great! There is a rumor that we are under a tornado warning today, weird huh? I don’t think I can ever remember that happening here in Boston. Although I did notice the sky looked a little weird this morning during my walk to work (yes, that is a real photo taken outside of our apartment).
While walking to work and rocking out to some Pink (don’t you just love her?!) I sipped a large iced coffee.
Breakfast this morning was one of my summer favorites! Vanilla greek yogurt, kashi go lean crunch and fresh blueberries. Fresh berries are easily one of my favorite things about summer. I brought it along with me to work and ate it at my desk.
For lunch all I really wanted was soup. I think I am the only person that wants soup on hot days…weirdo! Lunch was a can of Amy’s veggie soup.
On the side I had cheese, cracker and grapes.
Perfect lunch
Around 2:30, I needed a little pick me up. Enter: second iced coffee of the day!

Did you guys know today is National Running Day?! In case you were unaware- I kind of like running.
You know, just a little!
I actually was not always a runner. No, no, my running journey is still pretty young. I started running in January of 2009. You can read more about my journey to becoming healthier and happier by checking out my Meet Ali page. Running has taught me so much about myself as a person. Through running I have learned how to manage stress in a healthy way, how to work really hard towards a goal, and how to push through difficult times. Being a runner has made me a better person. I have also met some amazing friends through running and encouraged some friends to become runners. Running is such a part of who I am and the act is something almost spiritual for me.
I run because it teaches me something new about myself every time I lace up. I run because it gives me the ability to amaze myself. I run because I CAN, and there are so many others who can’t. I run because it makes me feel like I can take on any obstacle. I run because it can help me raise money for a good cause ( 5 more days to donate to my AIDS run…doooooo iiiiitttt!). I run because it makes me feel like superwoman. I run because I love myself enough to give myself the gift of health every day!
Why do you run?

Vanessa- Thank You! That is very sweet of you to say
That picture is amazing! Kind of creepy, too. I’m still at work right now and I really hope a tornado doesn’t hit here in the bean as soon as I get out!
P.S. I’m pretty sure you have the LARGEST collection of flats I’ve ever seen!
I LOVE your skirt!!!!
Can I copy you?
Of course!!!!
Today I heard my sister say she runs because right now its the only thing that really helps her know she is moving literally and figuratively toward a more positive/ healthier life for her and her 3 girls.
As a runner for the last 18 years…I thought I was going to cry when she said that.

we have a tornado warning here in sacramento, ca, too! which is extremely rare! it is also cold and rainy which pretty much never happens in june. mother nature is crazy! my running today will definitely be taking place at the gym this evening!
I love to run because it makes me stronger in so many ways. I love to run because I love to eat.
That cloud shot is crazy! And, I have that green jcrew sweater. love it!
Lastly, sadly I do not run b/c I have bad arthritis in my hip from a childhood injury. I had to stop running at the age of 20 due to chronic pain
But when I did run in college it was because it was the very best workout! I imagine if I ran now it would be for deeper reasons, but that was my reason then…
