Oooossssppppie!

Ok so, this afternoon my camera batteries died. But, not to worry all you missed was my afternoon snack of grapes and a cut up pear. AND I had another iced coffee (I know, I don’t usually allow two coffees, but I had to work at my part time job, and I have to stay awake and study tonight…bad nights sleep=this girl is draggin). But, luckily Adam charged my battery for me while I was working my other job so I was able to get dinner pics! Really…he is the bestest! Thanks Adam :)

Dinner had to be something quick (but yummy) because it is almost 8 and I have to study for my final tomorrow. After tomorrow I will have NO MORE CLASS until Fall! Summer here I come!!!!! I decided to make this Amy’s Teriyaki Wrap.

IMG_0315It is delicious! It tastes like a stir fry in a wrap, so good! I ate this with a side of steamed spinach (you will notice I try to eat a significant amount spinach once a week. This is because I am anemic and since I don’t eat red meat, it is really hard to for to get iron without spinach).

IMG_0316This is my meal all together…tasty!

IMG_0317This the the inside of the wrap…hello gorgeous!

On a more serious note. I have received emails from people (if you are comfortable sharing your experiences on this topic please do so, I know it is personal for some and that is why I got emails) asking me if I experience people being negative about my blog and my diet. I do experience that, on a daily basis. And yes it is hard, and sometimes very hurtful, especially when it is from people I would consider to be my friends. The way I deal with it is I remind myself of a few things:

  • I know my body best, I know how best to fuel it and what makes it work best. I love myself enough to not put things in my body that make it feel sick or sluggish.
  • People who have a problem with the way I eat, are usually insecure about their own eating habits (maybe they have a poor diet) and somehow feel as if me eating the way I do is threatening to them or it makes them feel bad about they way they eat. Whether they want to admit it or not, this is usually (but not always) the truth.  They can change if they want to, this is their problem not mine and if these people would like help or support they know I will be willing to provide that.
  • I write my blog for those who can benefit from it (including me) and I know people benefit from it because all of you guys tell me so all the time (Thanks! :) ) those who make fun of it don’t have to read it, period.
  • People who really care about me will support my healthy lifestyle because it is what is best for me and they want what is best for me. I am the happiest and healthiest I have ever been in my life and those who care about me will be happy about that!
  • I remind myself I am the bigger person in the situation, because I never put down or look down upon people who eat differently than me.
  • Finally, I really don’t care what people think because when it comes down to it, I AM PROUD of all my hard work and the results I have gotten (physically, mentally and emotionally) from the changes I made. No one handed me a magic wand, I did this all by myself and only for myself.

What do you do when people make fun of the way you eat or your blogging (if you are a blogger)?

Well, I have to study…booooo! But it is almost over. Have a great night see you tomorrow!

Tell ‘em girl!!! I just ignore the negativity…kind of!!! I usually break down to the hubby who then says to just forget them all and that makes me feel somewhat better.

I have to try that Amy’s wrap. It looked really good. I have bought those soy crisps 3 times since you told me about them. Keep blogging!!!

You have such a great, positive attitude I cant even believe anyone would dare to say anything negative about it. But I guess that’s just life, there is always going to be someone out there that wants to bring everyone else down. I personally think you are awesome, and your blog is great! Keep it coming :)
    Good luck with your final!

I just recently started to blog and have yet to experience a negative comment, I think that the main reason people are negative towards other people is either out of jealousy (whether they are cognizant of it or not, I know I have experienced jealousy that I wasn’t totally aware) or because they are not happy with their own diet. Sometimes it is the people that you love the most that want to try to hold you back from success.

Thanks for responding, ladies. I want to make it clear that I have NEVER gotten a negative comment posted directly on the blog. I get negative comments about the blog and my habits from people I know personally. They know I write a blog and make fun or say negative things about it. I am not sure if these people have ever read it or not.

I am glad that some others have had this happen. This is a place that is free of negativity!

People are always going to be jealous of you Al. Like you said you did this yourself, no magic wand and some people can’t stand to see others succeed (especially when they can’t). Just ignore them and know that you are above all the drama. Personally, I have found your blog (and others) extremely helpful! I now am in love with greek yogurt and am heading to whole foods & Trader Joes to stock up this weekend. I kinda have to since I went for a complete overhaul in my fridge and cabinets – they are empty & Matt is NOT happy! I can’t lie though, there is one blog that kills me…she’s a bit ridiculous, but hey whatever floats her boat right. Keep up the good work girl and Blog away!

LOL thanks Jill! I am glad you find it helpful! Oh and enjoy your trips to Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s two of my favorite places!!!!!

I just started reading your blog and loved it so much that I’ve gone back to the very beginning and am reading up until the most current. May take me a while. lol

The reasons I love it are b/c I share you’re same passions, ecspecially fitness, food/cooking and I love BEER! lol…I know sounds weird to have passion for fitness and love beer too. I’ve wanted to start a blog forever, but I desperately need a new camera. Maybe I’ll just have to do that.

Keep up the awesome work and I will continue to catch up on what I missed!
