Morning! Sorry I didn’t post last night, when I got home at 10:30pm I just showered and headed to bed. I was so tired my eyes were burning!

Yesterday afternoon, I turned into a bottomless pit! I had several small snacks:

Dark chocolate (I have been craving chocolate so bad lately- I am blaming hormones).

3 or 4 dried mangos:

After stuffing my face with a gazillion snacks, I went to class. We had an interesting discussion about Ethics followed by a quiz. In school counseling, ethics can get dicey and every situation is so unique. The conversation was interesting, I am wondering what ethical dilemmas I will face when I am a counselor.

Once class got out, I headed back to my office to make a few phone calls. While making calls I snacked on a kashi pumpkin pie bar.

Once I finished my calls I hopped on the train and headed over to this event. Aiming Low is a blog with 13  female writers (who all write thier own individual blogs), the premise of the blog is to strive for anti-perfection. The Aiming Low Gang says:

“It’s not about the failure to attain perfection….it’s about understanding that perfection is not only over-rated, it’s a big fat whopping lie-burger with cheese…and fries…and onions.”

When I got to the event, I found Carly right away.  Carly and I actually went to college together, she is also a blog reader that has recently started her own blog!

The event has lots of food and open bar.

I did not drink, but I grabbed food. Since I wasn’t having a “real dinner” I made sure to grab a good amount.

My plate included hummus and wheat pitas, shrimp, a little chicken, fruit and two lobster raviolis. Everything was super. I also had a little dessert (like I said…craving chocolate).

Biscotti and decaf…um and a piece of dark chocolate!

The event was sponsored by HP and Staples. Our table had a whole bunch of staples goodies on it :) We all know I love office supplies!

Picture 472

There were awesome giveaways too!!! For example: $250 gift certificate to Staples, an HP picture printer, and HP mini notebook, a shredder. I won nothing, but did not leave empty handed. There as swag!

A new flash drive and fun staple remover!

I also snagged a recipe card for banana bread that sounds great! I will be making a few substitutions of course.

It was a fun evening, but a late one for me, so like I said I showered and got in bed right when I got home.

This morning I woke up with a sore and bruised, um…… a**! Yeah, I think I may have been peddling too fast in spin?! I have a big ol’ bruise on my rare end!! Of course, I have to laugh at myself, this is one of those “Only Me” moments!  I guess I took the phrase “Petal to the Metal” to another level, huh? To make my morning better (sense the sarcasm?!)  my salad leaked all over my work bag during my commute this morning. This thing made a huge mess, so it better be delicious!

Speaking of delicious!!!

Breakfast: two kashi waffles, blueberry jam, 1/2 of a banana and peanut butter = waffle sandwich heaven :)

And of course, there was some of this too ;)

Outfit:

Sweather dress (thrift store), Boots (Steve Madden), tights (Target). I have said it before and I will say it again, I heart sweater dresses in the fall!

I love the design at the top of this dress!

Oh and while writing this post, I am snacking on these grapes.

AS ALWAYS, just a reminder: Vote for me for the Wellsphere People’s HealthBlogger Awards 2009! Click Here.

I would REALLY Appreciate it!!! :)

Where’d you get the dried mangoes?

    • Ali says:

I think those are from Costco, but I got some at market Basket and at Trader Joe’s too. Any grocery store should have them in with the nuts and stuff.

Can you get your kashi waffles anywhere? I cant find them? They would be in the frozen food section right?

    • Ali says:

Yeah, they will either be with the other frozen waffles or in the frozen natural food section. It all depends on how the store organizes it.
