Pinot Envy…

Monday was primarily spent applying for jobs for the fall. There are a few prospects out there. I found out last week that the job that I was really hoping to get was offered to another candidate. I was obviously disappointed, but I totally understand. Competition is stiff out there for jobs in my field, I knew that going into it so I am remaining very positive. Applying for jobs is very time consuming and I have devoted everyday to it until I get something. Monday morning I woke and tired out a new cereal that I got a the Healthy Living Summit. Erewhon buckwheat and hemp. I am a huge fan of all of the Erewhom cereals I have tried, especially the coco brown rice crispies!

I had a cup of this cereal with unsweetened almond milk and sliced strawberries.

I liked the cereal. It was a little on the plain side, but it we good with almond milk and strawberries. Even when almond milk is unsweetened it adds a nice nutty flavor that worked really well this this cereal.

When lunchtime rolled around I was feeling pretty snacky. I didn’t want a “meal” so I had a little bit of leftover salad from a girls night I hosted at the end of last week. I also some pretzel crisps with salsa, roasted red pepper dip, greek olive hummus and reduced fat cheddar.

At 5pm, I headed to work at the Navy Yard Bistro. I brought an Odwalla bar that I got in my swag bag from HLS. I like to bring a snack because if not I will eat my body weight in the house-made ciabatta bread and whipped honey butter.

I actually didn’t like the bar at all. I was bummed because I usually love Odwalla bars. This flavor was not very good. It reminded me of eating orange flavored fruit snacks. The orange flavor was totally overwhelming! Oh well, I LOVE the banana bread flavor. I will have to stick to that for now on.

Work was slow, so I got out earlier than usual. I decided to enjoy a glass of wine at the bar. Adam has been working crazy hours and had just went to bed. I didn’t want to go home and wake him up, so why not have a glass of pinot? Pinot Noir is hands down my favorite wine and NYB has so many delicious options! I know you have “Pinot Envy” right now… ;)

When I got home I made a quick dinner. I had a veggie burger on a whole wheat sandwich thin with some leftover grilled zucchini and eggplant topped with roasted red pepper spread.

I then went in and joined these two sleepy guys…

This photo makes me melt a little bit :)

What is you all-time favorite wine?
