Seasons…

Hey everyone! How is your Tuesday? Mine has consisted of a lot of this:

Ugh, I printed so much that my printer for HOT and the papers almost burnt my hand…ouch! I think that is a ream and a half of paper!

Morning Snack:

2 dates with almond butter! :)

During my “lunch break” I headed to the gym for a 45 minute spin class (Healthworks actually calls it RIDE! ). This class was so good! We did a bunch of sprints and a whole heck of a lot of climbs. My legs were like jelly after. We all know my cardio of choice is running for sure, but sometimes I like to change it up and add some different forms of cardio to surprise my body! I hope I don’t wake up with a bruise on my butt like last time I took a spinning class.

There is a Starbucks right next door to Healthworks and I grabbed a short nonfat eggnog latte. Does anyone else think that the short is the perfect size? Everything else is kind of huge, no?!

HEAVEN!!!! I think that the eggnog latte is my favorite of all the Holiday Season drinks at Sbux (the pumpkin latte is my all time favorite seasonal drink). This all got me thinking, do you think that if we were able to get seasonal things all year round we would love them as much? I mean I love seasonal beers and seasonal coffee drinks so much, but if I could get them whenever I wanted would a Pumpkin Beer be as exciting? Although to me, anything pumpkin is exciting so maybe that is not a good example. Just some food for thought, I think of strange things (most which involve food ;) )

Lunch:

Turkey, lettuce and mustard on a whole wheat tortilla. One the side I had a little snack plate with fresh fruits and veggies: cucumbers, carrots, raspberries, blueberries and grapes :)

As you all know, in Honor of Thanksgiving being right around the corner, I will be posting something I am thankful for in every post. PLEASE feel free to join in in the comments section! So for this post:

I AM THANKFUL FOR: The Change of Seasons!!!! (OBVI)

As much as I BI*CH in the winter about being cold (get ready kiddos, it’s coming soon!) I love that I live in a part of the country where the seasons change. I love that it is snowy and cold during the holidays, and that we get a lot of beach weather in the summer months! The change of seasons is always brings on seasonal activities, foods, BEERS and COFFEE drinks ;) Plus, it sure keeps things interesting, don’t you think?

YAY FOR SEASONS!!!!

Can I ask you a question about working out on your lunch break? How do you do it? I mean, do you shower after you work out? Do you not sweat a lot? Do you not shower at all?

I’ve noticed you’ve mentioned working out during your lunch break before and I’ve always wondered because I know I can’t. I’m a sweater for sure and would have to take a shower and all that fun stuff and would never get back to work in time!

      Sarah:

Well, I don’t work out during lunch that often because of time ect., but occasionally I will. I DO get really sweaty, and I DO shower. This class was only 45 minutes, so after the class was over, I took a quick shower, blow dried my bangs, out my half dry hair up in a pony added a little makeup and was back to work! I usually end up taking and hour and 15 minutes when I do this. So, the next day I take a shorter lunch to even it out, I am lucky to have the option to do that I guess. Hope that helps.

I have not tried the short size but you know I think I will not…it look likes the perfect size…and mmm that flavor sounds delish!! Thanks for mentioning the seasons…it just reminded me to learn how to appreciate them more. And what I’m thankful for today is THE GREEN MONSTER DRINK and how its improved my energy and immunity

I think having something available for a seasonal period makes me enjoy them that much more. Last spring I found a really cheap pumpkin/fall beer on sale b/c it was expiring in the next week, and as much as I wanted to buy it, I just couldn’t imagine drinking it since I was getting in the summer drinking mode (Corona, margaritas, etc). But right now, nothing beats anything pumpkin!!

You are right: IT is a blessing to live in a place with Seasons. I live in Oklahoma and we don’t have much of a fall. :(

Ali – I need to caution you about the baby carrots! Unless you got them at Whole Foods I wouldn’t eat them. They are soaked in bleach. Bleck! Jeannie xo
