SURPRISE!!!!

Hey everyone! I was so busy yesterday it was insane (but really fun and productive)! After my morning post, I went to the gym and did a nice easy (that actually wasn’t that easy) run. I ran 3.7 miles in 35 minutes. I wanted to do a nice slow run as my last run before tomorrow’s race. I am not sure if it was really hot of what, but I was dripping sweat. After the run I did the 10am Body Pump class. IT WAS HARD (as always)!!!!! You guys, there was sweat dripping off my elbows! Like dripping onto the floor! Yeah it was an intense workout. When I got home and got undressed to get in the shower, there was NOT a dry spot on my sports bra. Crazy, right?!

I have two of these shorts bras to compare. The top is is from yesterday’s and the bottom one is a clean one!

After a shower I ate a quick lunch. I had a salad with spring mix, tomatoes, red peppers, cucumbers, and a teriyaki salmon filet.

It was so good. On the side I had some salt and vinegar Kettle Chips and some pretzel thins.

Once lunch was over, I finally did the closet change over! It took 3 hours!!!! I ended up getting rid of a bunch of stuff that will go to friends, family and Good Will. I have 3 grocery bags of stuff that needs to be taken in. I just actually separated out the stuff that is priority (mostly work clothes) since I don’t have the cash to do everything at once.

After putting everything away, I had such a feeling of accomplishment!!! I got ready for the night’s secret plans! My plans were to go to my soon-too-be father-in-law’s surprise 60th birthday party! You guys can understand why I didn’t write it up here now, right?

Here is my outfit:

Boots (Nine West), Jeans (Express), Black Top (H&M), Plaid Blazer (I think Filene’s Basement- I have had it forever). The jeans are actually from HIGH SCHOOL!!!! I found a bunch of really old clothes in my parents storage until n Friday and decided to try them out. They fit!!!!!! Oh, and I wore 6 pearl bangles. :)

I cuffed up the sleeve because I loved the liner, so adorable!

While waiting for the birthday boy to show up I had a beer.

and some cheese and crackers (x2).

Here is the moment when Bill came in a realized it was a party for him!!!!

He was so surprised and happy!!! After he arrived dinner was served. Here is my plate.

My plate: turkey, baked ziti, green beans, squash, potatoes, and stuffing. SO GOOD!!!!

Here was a series of desserts too! Hey, I had to celebrate, right?!

Looks at that cake. I was filled with strawberries and cream, amazing!!!!!

I had a small piece followed by two cookies made by my (almost) sister-in-law Linda.

It was a great night of family and laughter. I did a lot of socializing. But, I also played bartender for a little while.

Making a drink for my mom and she loved it! (Malibu, Pineapple, splash of Cran).

IMG_2483.JPG

I really do love spending time with family!

IMG_2487.JPG

Really?! How cute is my nephew Jackson?! Adorable, right?

The Birthday boy with 3 of his daughters (Amanda, CJ, and Linda). Linda just bought this house and had been doing tons of work on it, so that is why the wall looks a little unfinished. They have done so much amazing work on the house, it is going to be gorgeous when it is done!!!!

Here is the family:

IMG_2497.JPG

Adam’s siblings (minus his sister Deb that lives in FL…remember when we went to visit her?!) and his mom and dad.

My father in law (almost) and myself.

IMG_2507.JPG

Me and my mother-in-law. I really loved her top, the bottom of it was black and white checked…really cute.

IMG_2506.JPG

I took his picture of Adam and his brother Will (our best man) because I was making fun of the fact that they looked like Burt and Ernie!

During the course of the night I had a few more beers.

HA! Will was really excited about being on the blog- sorry ladies, he is happily married ;) !

After everyone left, Adam and I stuck around to hear more about David and Linda’s plans for the house.

We had some snacks.

Pretzels with mustard and grapes and cheese and crackers.

David (brother-in-law) got so interested in my food photography that he JUST HAD TO try it out for himself, and totally kidnapped my camera.

He called this one “King of Beers!” He is pretty good right?! For those of you that have a blog you know how hard it is at first to learn how to get good food pictures! He is a natural.

We got home at 1:30am and got right into bed. I slept in this morning and it felt so good. When I got up, I took Oscar for a walk and got a coffee.

This will be my last “real” coffee until after my race tomorrow- I am having decaf in the morning.

Breakfast:

IMG_2530.JPG

Egg white omelet with cheddar cheese and hot salsa and a veggie sausage, with some grapes.

IMG_2532.JPG

(right out the the tupperware!) A few hours late, I was a little hungry and had a handful of peanuts.

IMG_2535.JPG

Today will be spent hydrating. My last race I was so dehydrated, anyone who has ever ran a race like that knows it is absolute hell. I am making sure that is not the case this time. LESSON LEARNED!

So far, I have had two of these:

full of water and two of these:

!/2 water and 1/2 coconut water. I will he focused on hydration all day long! Today’s other plans include working at my part-time job and grocery shopping. See you guys later on, have a great Sunday!

Questions: I’ve been trying really hard to eat healthier and with this transition I am having difficulties with breakthrough hunger. I find that I need to snack more often. What is in your advice healthy snacks that are not high in calories but that fill you? And coconut water with water? Dumb question but where do you get the coconut water? And much luck with the race!! “Tu eres muy bonita!” operationbeautiful.com!

Ibelis -Sure. I love kashi bars, nuts and raw fruit and veggies. You can eat tons of fruit and veggies with racking up calories. I do carrot sticks, cucumber slices, cut up peppers, grapes, melon, apples ect.

Coconut water hydrates in the same way as sports drinks (like power aid) but is more natural. I buy it at the regular grocery store in the Hispanic food aisle. Goya sells it super cheap. I like to do half and half because the taste is too strong for me by itself.

Thanks for the well wishes for my race, girls!
