WALKING ZOMBIE

Sorry I didn’t blog last night, I had this bright idea so skip it to get some sleep, HA, Right! We will get back to that later. I walked home from work yesterday with Melissa (I love having a walking buddy), on the way home I stopped in at her apt. and she gave me two shirts and a pair of black pants she doesn’t wear anymore! I love cute clothes, and I love free ones even more!!!! Thanks, Mel ;)

After that, I went to my mom and dad’s to pick up Oscar, he was so sleepy…I don’t know why that dog is so tired, he sleeps more than anyone I know.  I decided not to go on my run ( but did get in a difficult biceps and shoulder workout) for a few reasons:

  1. I was so sore from the hard run I did the day before
  2. My dad said it was going to downpour and thunder- the last thing I needed was to get a mile or so out and it start pouring (I don’t think it actually ended up raining at all though).
  3. I was EXHAUSTED after two terrible nights of sleep.

So instead, I got right to making dinner. Last nights dinner as a star ingredient:

IMG_0879Polenta! After seeing Polenta all over Caitlin’s blog, I decided to give it a try. But, I decide to cook it a little different than her. It was an experiment :)

I cut the log into three pretty equal piece. One piece went right into the freezer for a later date, the second section I sliced up into 1/4 inch pieces and put them in Tupperware, then into the fridge for another dinner later on this week. The third piece I cut into 1/4 inch pieces and put on a heated up George Forman Grill.

IMG_0880While the polenta was grilling, I heated up a small skillet, sprayed it with Olive Oil cooking spray and added some veggie meat that I had defrosted in the fridge over night. Once it was heated up a little I added come organic pasta sauce and about a tablespoon and a half of  fat free ricotta cheese

IMG_0881Once that was heated and the polenta was cooked through, I put the polenta in a bowl and added the veggie meat/sauce/ricotta mixture over it.

IMG_0884THE VERDICT: um, experiment successful!!!!! It reminded me of a meat lasagna…but a lot healthier! So good. I love when my experiments turn out well!!!!

After dinner, I decided to lay on the couch and veg out, while watching some Bridzilla’s that I had on my DVR. These to episodes I watched were awful. This bride was soooooo abusive to her mother-in-law, it was pretty awful. I think I am going to stop watching it all together. I am not really that entertained as much as I am embarrassed for these girls and feel bad for the people that have to deal with them. After I watched those to, the movie Gia was on, I decided to watch it because I remembered my friend Jeanette from college doing a project on it and she said ti was really good. It was!

Around 10:30, I did some dishes, brushed my teeth, washed my face, and got in bed.  I laid there in the darkness until 11, when I finally fell asleep. Adam came home at 11:45-ish, we was fumbling with the locks and then Oscar starting barking and that woke me up. When he came home, he sat in the living room watching TV, that kept me awake fore about 35 minutes before I asked him to turn it down, he did. Him walking around, and showering for then next hour or so kept me awake. I was thinking, “UGH – Brain turn off PLEASE!” When Adam got into bed, he fell asleep right away, I WAS SO JEALOUS!!! I was awake until 2:15. At 3 am, Oscar started pacing around the apt. I could hear his little toe nails on the hard wood floor. I knew he needed to go to the bathroom, there was NO WAY  I was walking him at 3am, so I opened the back door to let him pee outside. This little guy decided he didn’t want to come back in!!!! So, I was out there yelling at him and finally got him in. Then I laid there awake until 4:15. When The alarm went off at 5:30 I literally laughed at the idea of getting up to run. I got back in bed and laid there mostly awake until 7:30 when I could muster up the want-to to get out of bed. UGH :( 3 nights in a row…combined total of …drum roll please … 10 hours of sleep.

This is what I look like today!IMG_0889

tired eyes….

I stilled walked to work today, and talked to Kara for a little while. When I ordered my large iced coffee this morning, I requested it in an IV. The guy at the coffee shop got a kick out of that…too bad I was serious ;) I also ran into and old friend Kristin on my way to work..it was good to chat with her for a few minutes!

I was running so late I packed my brekkie to go and eat it at work: vanilla chobani, ksashi go lean, blueberries and strawberries.

IMG_0890Today I am wearing this dress:

Well, I have a lot to do! Today is my brother’s 30th Birthday, Happy Birthday Nick! I am hoping to stay awake and get a lot of work done, tonight we are going on a benefit cruise from 7p-10p (MUST STAY AWAKE). It is for a friend of  a girl I know that is doing the Pan Mass Challenge. So it is for a good cause, I am just hoping I can stay awake!

Try a tea with Valerian Root in it. I love the stuff.
Yogi Tea has a good one I drink all the time, its the “calm” stress relief tea. Try using 2 bags in one cup.

I’m sure other brands have it as well.

I cant believe I didn’t think of it before. I am slightly obsessed with the stuff.

I am going to have to find me some…if not tonight, next time I go to a grocery store, because I need to have it in my house at all times!

I agree about Bridezillas! Used to be a favorite of mine now it’s really abusive. It’s glorifed and accepted which is gross. I quit watching. GROSS! Hopefully you can sleep tonight. I too need the tv to sleep so I feel Adam and Scottie is often in your shoes! but if it’s not on I have nightmares…weird!

    • Ali says:

Yeah…I feel like Bridzillas used to be entertaining when it first started. It was more like bratty girls that wanted outrageous things. Now, it is awful!

    So want that dress!
